The Department of Children and Education is seeking a psychologist for a development project – to strengthen the psychological intervention in the schools' student health services.

Do you want to help develop how the school psychologist's expertise is used in the school's health-promoting and preventive work? We are looking for a licensed psychologist who wants to contribute to taking the next step in the development of our collaborative work within student health.

About the project

In our schools and preschools, fantastic work is already being done within student health. Now we are taking a step further: to develop how psychological expertise is used even more strategically, preventively, and promotively – to strengthen both students' learning and well-being.

The project aims to contribute to:

• School psychologists working even closer to the units and becoming a natural part of the schools' development work.
• Having a clearer structure and direction for the health-promoting and preventive mission together with the principal.
• Providing support to principals in developing and following up on work with accessible and inclusive learning environments.
• Creating equity between the units in how psychological expertise is utilized.

The assignment

As a project-employed psychologist, you will become a key person in the development work. You will:

• Contribute to developing and clarifying the role of the school psychologist in the health-promoting and preventive work of student health.
• Provide analytical support and advice to principals and student health teams regarding learning environments, mental health, and inclusion.
• Conduct competence-enhancing initiatives for staff based on identified needs.
• Offer supervision and collegial learning that strengthens staff's ability to apply theoretical knowledge.
• Develop common working methods and structures for their interventions together with the school psychologists in the municipality.
• Collaborate with the Social Services regarding the new social services act.

Expected effects

The project should lead to:

• A clear structure for how psychological expertise is used in health-promoting and preventive work as well as in systematic quality work at each unit.
• More students reaching their goals.

• Are a licensed psychologist with experience in schools or child and adolescent psychiatry.
• Are passionate about development work and systematic improvements.
• Want to help shape the future working methods for school psychologists – focusing on promoting and preventive interventions.
